Revolut, the global financial super app with over 35 million customers worldwide, has announced that its customers have raised over £1 million to support refugees around the world through UK for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency’s national partner for the UK.
The milestone total was reached through Revolut’s Donations feature, which allows charities to receive donations from Revolut customers, of which 100% of the amount is received by the charity partner, free from any fees. These contributions have played a pivotal role in assisting the UNHCR in safeguarding and supporting those who have been forced to flee their homes, helping them seek refuge and rebuild their lives.
Since first onboarding the charity in 2020, Revolut customers have consistently stepped up in times of crisis, generously responding to UK for UNHCR’s emergency appeals.
Vlad Yatsenko, CTO and Co-founder of Revolut, said: “As crises emerge all over the world, it is nothing but essential that charities on the ground are able to effectively provide support to those most in need. We are incredibly proud to offer a service that helps deliver crucial funds to these charities, quickly and fee-free. We are incredibly grateful to all our customers who together have donated tens of millions to charities all over the world.”
